Men’s Volleyball Welcomes in Harvard, Sacred Heart This Weekend

Loretto Pa. – Your Saint Francis men's volleyball team will host Harvard and Sacred Heart this weekend for a pair of EIVA matches. Both matches are set to start at 7 p.m. Friday's match will be the only game broadcasted on NEC Front Row. Live stats will be provided for both matches.
Saint Francis, led by Coach
Mike Rumbaugh, enters the weekend with a 5-8 overall record and is 0-1 in conference play after losing to No. 9 Penn State 0-3 on Saturday night. Redshirt senior
Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) finished the match with 12 kills, three kills, and one service ace. He also hit a milestone on Saturday with reaching his 1,000
th career kill. Freshman
Ryan Alu (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks West HS) and senior
Keith Kegerreis (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) contributed on the defensive side for the Flash. Alu finished the night with nine digs as Kegerreis finished with 4 blocks.
Braswell ranks top in the EIVA in kills with 125 while also leading in the defensive column with 82 digs.
Brandon Buck (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) follows behind Braswell as he ranks second with 108 kills. Alu also ranks second in the conference with 81 digs.
About the Crimson
Harvard comes into Loretto with a 1-6 record and is 1-0 in conference play. The Crimson's dropped three games this past weekend as they lost a 3-0 match to No. 1 Long Beach State, 3-2 match to New Paltz State and a 3-1 match to Stevenson. Erik Johnsson and Riley Moore power the Crimson offense, totaling with 101 combined kills on the season. Marko Kostich has dished out 175 assist for the Crimson's offernse. Chase Howard leads the Crimson defense with 72 digs as Trevor Dow has pitched in with 26 blocks.
About the Pioneers
Sacred Heart is riding a two match win streak coming into Loretto but are 0-1 in conference play after a 3-0 loss to Harvard. The Pioneers beat Lasell College 3-1 last weekend as they were led by redshirt senior Robert Costigan who had 11 kills along with 5 digs. Redshirt junior Emerson Waumans leads SHU with 53 kills while freshman Shawn Tischler follows with 38. Noah Ricchetti has amassed 98 assists on the season. Joshua Ayzenberg leads the defense with 67 digs, while Taylor Bloomquist paces SHU with 24 total blocks.
Series History
Saint Francis leads the all-time series against Sacred Heart, 17-2, and trail the all-time series against Harvard, 9-10. SFU won all three matches against SHU while splitting both matches against Harvard last season.
