LORETTO, PA- Saint Francis embarks on a three-game road trip starting with trips to Central Connecticut and Bryant this weekend in the second-to-last NEC weekend of the regular season.

WHATS AT STAKE?
This is a pivotal weekend for the Red Flash who currently own a narrow tiebreaker on Robert Morris for the top overall seed as both schools sit 12-2 in conference play. Saint Francis currently has the tie breaker based on St. Francis Brooklyn (who beat RMU) sitting ahead of Sacred Heart (who beat Saint Francis) in the NEC standings by a game and a half (the two schools play each other on Saturday). Robert Morris has the mirrored schedule of SFU this weekend as they head to Bryant on Saturday and CCSU on Monday.

ABOUT THE RED FLASH
Saint Francis is coming into the weekend off a 80-61 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday night. The Red Flash jumped out to a 20-4 first quarter lead and never looked back. It was the defense that fueled the win, as SFU forced 24 turnovers, turning them into 31 points. The Red Flash had a 26-0 edge on points off turnovers through three quarters before calling off the dogs in the fourth. Five different players had at least three steals as SFU recorded 17 as a team on Monday. Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) led the way  with 29 points and seven made three pointers. That moves her to 1,940 points in her career and 315 career made threes as she closes in on the overall NEC three point record of 328 set by Tristan Blackwood of CCSU. She is also just four made threes away from breaking her own school record of 110 made threes in a season, the NEC record is 126 by RMU's Sade Logan in 2008. Caitlyn Kroll (Bridgeport, Ohio/Bridgeport) also has stuffed the stat sheet recently, as she is coming off a weekend where she averaged 12 points 5 rebounds 3 assists and 2 steals a night. She'll be looking to add to that total against a CCSU team that has averaged 16 turnovers a night in NEC play. Last season, Ace Harrison (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor (Maryland)) had 11 steals in a 72-70 win for the Red Flash at CCSU.

ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS
Picked fifth in the NEC, CCSU comes into the weekend at 6-8 in the NEC and 6-19 overall. They had their four-game winning streak snapped at Mount St. Mary's on Monday night. Kianna Patterson and Andi Lydon pace the scoring, with each averaging in double figures and posting top-15 numbers in the Northeast Conference. Lydon also averages six rebounds a game while Patterson is fourth in the NEC with 4.4 assists per night. The Blue Devils lead the NEC in three-point defense, holding teams to about 28 percent shooting from deep. That was the case the first time the teams met when SFU went just 9-31 from three-point range. The Red Flash made up for it with 46 points in the paint and a 23-7 edge on second-chance points. They'll look for more of the same on Saturday against CCSU's four-guard lineup.

ABOUT BRYANT
Bryant comes into the weekend at 8-6 in the NEC and in sole possession of third place in the NEC standings. They are coming off a 2-0 week that saw Sydney Holloway earn NEC Player of the Week honors after averaging 22 points and 14 rebounds in the two games. Holloway is now third in the NEC in scoring at just over 18 points a game and leads the conference in rebounding at 10 a night. Bryant is the polar opposite of the Red Flash, relying on a strong inside game rather than the three. The Bulldogs are hitting less than three per NEC game at a 24 percent clip. They make up for it with strong rebounding, leading the NEC at nearly plus-7 rebounds a night. The Red Flash did out rebound Bryant 54-50 inside DeGol Arena thanks to a group effort that saw six players grab at least six rebounds. Bryant is also very efficient on offense, posting the second-highest offense in the NEC next to the Red Flash at nearly 67 points a night.
