Loretto, Pa- Your Saint Francis Red Flash Water Polo team commences its 2018 season at the Bison Invite. The Red Flash will play Bucknell, Siena, Gannon and George Washington this weekend.

The Bison went 14-18 (2-6 CWPA) in 2017. Like the Red Flash, they return three of their top four leading point producers from 2017 in Emily Konishi, Marta Considine and Colleen Barron. Starting goalkeeper Manuela Herrera enters her senior year sixth in school history in saves. Head coach John McBride enters his seventh year at the helm.

The Saints went 7-24 (5-9 MAAC) in 2017. The fellow Franciscan school is also breaking in a new coach. Tamara Perea takes over for Siena as the sixth coach in the Saints' history. Clare Bryar is the main scoring threat with 82 goals.

The Golden Knights went 6-13 last year. Sean Morphy enters his third year as the head coach at his alma mater. Gannon's two leading scorers from the last two seasons, Alison Cooney and Liz Barr, return to lead the Golden Knights' offensive charge.

In 2017, the Colonials went 13-19 (1-7 CWPA). It is a rematch of last year's epic tournament game where the Red Flash edged George Washington on a last second goal for a thrilling 11-10 victory. Barry King enters his second year as head general for the Colonials. George Washington returns its two all-time leading scorers in Scarlett Hallahan and Jacqueline Bywater to rifle the ball. Â
