The Crimson’s Outlasted the Red Flash in Four Sets

Loretto, Pa.- The Saint Francis men's volleyball team falls to Harvard in four sets on Friday night at Dillon Fieldhouse. The Flash fell 15-25, 19-25, 25-15, and 15-25
The loss drops Saint Francis to 8-17 and 3-7 in conference play, while Harvard improves to 8-11 and 6-2 in the EIVA.
Senior

Cole Thompson (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos) contributed on the defensive side with 10 digs.
Set One
The Crimsons open the first set with a 15-9 lead, forcing SFU to call its first timeout of the set. Out of the timeout, Harvard continued to apply pressure and went on to win the set, 25-15.
Set Two
Cole Thompson (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos) would help SFU start the second set with a 3-1 lead before Harvard would fight back to tie things up at 4. Both teams would exchange points until the Crimsons would go on a 4-0 run to take a 17-12 lead. The Red Flash would keep things interesting as they battle back within two point and force Harvard to call its first timeout of the set. From the timeout, Harvard would hold its lead the rest of the way and win the set, 25-19.
Set Three
Down 0-2, both teams would open the set exchanging points before the Red Flash would break away on 4-1 run to take a 14-9 lead.
Brandon Buck (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) would continue to catapult the Red Flash offense to another big run as they would eventually go on to win the set, 25-15.
Set Four
The Crimsons open the fourth set with an 8-0 run to take 11-1 lead and force SFU to call a timeout. The Red Flash would try to chip away at the Harvard's lead but Crimsons would not budge as they would go on to win the final set, 25-15.
Saint Francis will continue as road warriors as they will head south to take on George Mason and University of Charleston for a pair of EIVA matches. Both matches are slated to start at 7 p.m.
