Loretto, Pa. - The Saint Francis women's soccer team (2-3-2) looks to rebound from its loss at Niagara on Friday with a match at Buffalo on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 12 p.m.

Scouting Buffalo

After an opening day loss to a talented St. John's team, the Bulls have reeled off four consecutive victories. Buffalo's attack centers around senior forward Carissima Cutrona who is off to another fast start in her final season with the Bulls with three goals and four assists in four games. Cutrona netted 10 goals as a sophomore and enters the week with 23 goals and 14 assists. Sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Walsh is also dangerous with two goals and two assists. Freshman goalkeeper Emily Kelly has stopped 25 of the 29 shots she has faced including 24 of the last 25.

Series History

Buffalo is 2-1 vs. Saint Francis but the Red Flash won the last meeting in 2012, 2-1.

Road Woes

Saint Francis continues to look for answers away from home as the Red Flash fell to 0-2-1 this season in away matches with Friday's 2-0 loss at Niagara. The difference in offensive production is noticeable. The Red Flash have scored nine goals in four home matches (2.25 goals per game) but just two goals in three road contests (.66 per game) and none in the last two. Since the start of the 2016 season, SFU is 15-5-2 (.727%) in home matches and 6-18-3 (.278) on the road.

Setting the Tone

SFU's bid to score the game's first goal has been critical through the first seven matches. Saint Francis is 2-0-1 when scoring first and 0-3 when allowing the game's first goal. Scoring first will be a difficult test against the Bulls. Buffalo has tallied first in each of its last four games.
