Youngstown, Ohio – Saint Francis women's tennis (1-2) dropped a 6-1 decision to Youngstown State (1-1) on Saturday at the Western Reserve Racquet Club.
The Red Flash played several tight matches with two singles matches going to a deciding third set. No. 3 singles player
Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) picked up SFU's lone point in a 6-0, 6-4 win over YSU's Cassandra Moraleja.
"The team played extremely well giving Youngstown State a hard-fought match," Interim Head Coach
Lisa Swope said. "YSU had to fight for every point. We lost a few heartbreakers today. We have a strong group and we will keep looking forward."

Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) was defeated by Youngstown State's Imaan Hassim, 7-6, 6-3. The Red Flash's
Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) fell to the Penguins' Tamara Teufl, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
YSU's Elvira Esteo won a narrow match over SFU's
Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School) at No. 4 singles, 7-6, 4-6, 13-11. The Penguins' No. 5 singles player Lucia Zagar defeated the Red Flash's
Romina Cutipa (Huancayo, Peru/San Juan Bosco), 6-2, 6-2. Youngstown State won at No. 6 singles by default.
Saint Francis' No. 1 doubles team of Seigford and Bode knocked off Hassim and Esteo, 6-3. Youngstown State's Teufl and Zagar picked up a win at No. 2 doubles over Miller and Gutierrez, 6-3. The Penguins won at No. 3 doubles by default to secure the doubles point.
The Red Flash return to the court for a match at Duquesne on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
