Women's basketball heads to Morehead State to play in Eagle Invitational

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's basketball (0-2) travels to Morehead State to play in the Eagle Invitational Nov. 16-17. The Red Flash will face Stetson (1-1) on Saturday at 3 p.m. before squaring off with the host Eagles (0-1) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Scouting Stetson
The Hatters are fresh off a 67-48 loss at No. 13 Kentucky on Wednesday night. Stetson previously defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 77-46 in the season-opener on Nov. 5. Megan Vincent leads the Hatters in scoring with 12.0 ppg, while Day'Neshia Banks is averaging 11.5 ppg. Stetson will face Morehead State on Friday at 6 p.m. before playing the Red Flash on Saturday.
 
Series History
Saint Francis is 1-0 in the all-time series history against Stetson. The Red Flash defeated the Hatters 63-61 on Dec. 28, 2009 in DeLand, Fla.
 
Scouting Morehead State
The Eagles are coming off a 79-65 defeat at Bowling Green in their season-opener on Nov. 9. Ellie Jo Johnson leads Morehead State with 11.0 ppg, while Tomiyah Alford is averaging 10.0 ppg.
 
Series History
Saint Francis is 1-0 in the all-time series history against Morehead State. The Red Flash defeated the Eagles 89-83 last season on Dec. 19, 2018 in Loretto.
 
Red Flash on the road
Saint Francis will be road warriors for the first month of the season. The Red Flash will play its first seven games away from home. SFU opened the 2019-20 campaign with contests at Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Following this weekend's invitational, Saint Francis will play road games against Florida Gulf Coast, South Florida and Vermont. The Red Flash host Youngstown State for its home opener on Dec. 7.
