Madi Tyus (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch) registered 13 kills and 14 digs and senior
Cecilia Esposito (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) posted a season-high 11 kills in her final collegiate game but the Saint Francis women's volleyball team (3-25, 3-13 NEC) lost to Fairleigh Dickinson in three sets (17-25, 18-25, 21-25).
The Knights opened the first set on a 5-0 run and led wire-to-wire to take a 1-0 lead.
The tables turned in set two as SFU raced out to a 7-2 lead. Esposito keyed the run with two kills and freshman
Cassie Shoupe (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area ) had an ace.
FDU responded with 16 of the next 20 points and put Saint Francis away for a 2-0 advantage.
The third set went back and forth with SFU taking a 13-12 lead after a kill by sophomore
Nicole Adams (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa East). The critical run came with the Knights leading 17-16 as the home team reeled off four straight points. A service ace from Adams tried to keep SFU alive, but the Red Flash were closed out on the next point.
Junior
Shannon Thomas (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria) posted 38 assists and 14 digs in the loss. Shoupe had a career-high three aces.
Tyus finishes the season as SFU's leader in kills with 326 after notching 340 as a freshman. Adams led in aces with 26 and Esposito led in blocks with 62.
