Red Flash travel north to face Vermont Sunday

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's basketball (1-5) hits the road to take on Vermont (2-5) on Sunday, Dec. 1. Tipoff at Patrick Gymnasium is set for 2 p.m. and the game can be seen on ESPN3.
 
Scouting Vermont
The Catamounts are fresh off an 83-49 defeat to UMass on Friday night. Vermont previously dropped a 77-74 overtime heartbreaker at Rhode Island on Monday. The Catamounts opened the season with three straight losses before picking up back-to-back wins over NEC opponent Bryant and Navy. Vermont is averaging 63.9 points per game, while allowing 74.6 ppg. Hanna Crymble leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 16.7 points and 6.9 boards per game. Josie Larkins in averaging 14.3 ppg and 3.6 apg.
 
Series History
Vermont leads the all-time series history against Saint Francis 1-0. The Catamounts picked up a 69-63 win over the Red Flash on Dec. 2, 1988 at the St. Bonaventure Tournament in Olean, N.Y.
 
Red Flash on the road
Saint Francis has been road warriors for the first month of the season. The Red Flash will play its first seven games away from home. SFU opened the 2019-20 campaign with contests at Virginia Tech and West Virginia. SFU then traveled to play in the Eagle Invitational at Morehead State with games against Stetson and the host Eagles. The next weekend, Saint Francis flew to the sunshine state for games against Florida Gulf Coast and South Florida. Following Sunday's game at Vermont, the Red Flash host Youngstown State for its home opener on Dec. 7.
 
Allen sets career-high in scoring against FGCU
Sophomore guard Phee Allen (Newport News, VA/Woodside) scored a career-high 17 points for the Red Flash against Florida Gulf Coast. The Newport News, Va. native shot a stellar 7-of-9 from the field, while knocking down her only three-point attempt. The 17 points more than doubled her season-high of eight points and shattered her previous career-best nine points last season against Montana.
 
Thomas pulls down career-best in boards
Junior Haley Thomas (Hooversville, PA/Bishop McCort) recorded her first double-double of the season with 15 points and a career-high 12 rebounds at Florida Gulf Coast. The Hooversville, Pa. native shot 7-of-14 from the floor, while adding two assists. Her 12 rebounds doubled her season-high and edged her previous career-best of 11 boards, which she recorded twice last season.
