Red Flash keep rolling with 87-62 road win

Teaneck, N.J. - The Saint Francis men's basketball team (13-11, 9-4 NEC) recorded a wire-to-wire 87-62 road win at Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday to notch its sixth straight win, its longest win streak since a seven-game win streak during the 1990-91 season. Junior Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea) put on a show in his return to his home state of New Jersey with 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists while senior Jamaal King (Salisbury, Md./Bishop O'Connell (Va.)) recorded 15 points, four assists and four steals.

Krimmel's Reaction

"I thought this was our most focused, well-executed game of the season," said head coach Rob Krimmel. "Our guys had plenty motivation after they handled us the way they did at our place and came out with a supreme focus and attention to detail."

Turning Point

Saint Francis held the Knights scoreless over the first 4:20 of the game and took a 12-2 lead after a three-pointer from Braxton with 13:39 to play. SFU would go on to knock down 7-of-15 threes in the half while holding the Knights to 1-for-9 from behind the arc to build a 41-23 halftime lead. FDU never got it closer than 18 at any point of the second half.

  • Saint Francis made 32-of-64 shots (50.0%) and 12-of-25 (48.0%) threes in the win while holding the Knights to 25-of-59 (42.4%) shooting and 6-of-17 (35.3%) from behind the arc.

  • Braxton's 21-point performance was his 20th career game with 20 or more points. He hit a season-high four three-pointers.
  • Redshirt junior Isaiah Blackmon (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte) and senior Andre Wolford (North Olmstead, Ohio/Saint Ignatius) joined Braxton and King in double figures with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
  • Sophomore Mark Flagg (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) added nine points and six rebounds off the bench.
  • Saint Francis moved into sole possession of first place after Robert Morris's loss at Mount St. Mary's.
  • Saint Francis has scored 80 or more points in three straight games after doing so just seven times in its first 18 contests.
  • The Red Flash are shooting a league-best 39.4% from three-point range during conference play.
