Red Flash look to extend hot streak this weekend

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's basketball (11-12, 8-3 NEC) hits the road to play at Fairleigh Dickinson (6-16, 3-8 NEC) on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. before hosting archrival Robert Morris (14-8, 11-0 NEC) on Monday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. Saturday's game with the Knights can be viewed on NEC Front Row, while Monday's tilt vs. the Colonials can be seen on ESPN3.
 
Scouting Fairleigh Dickinson
The Knights are 6-16 overall, 3-8 NEC and has dropped its last three contests. FDU fell to Robert Morris on Feb. 2, 63-43. The Knights lost at St. Francis Brooklyn on Feb. 9, 73-61 and dropped a 68-62 decision at Sacred Heart on Feb. 11. Junior Lauren Francillon leads the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game, while senior Peniel M'Bikata is averaging 9.1 ppg. Francillon paces the Knights in rebounding with 6.4 boards per game, while sophomore Madison Stanley is averaging 4.6 rpg. Senior Natalie Zamora leads FDU in assists with 2.5 apg.
 
Series History
Saint Francis holds a 43-22 all-time record against FDU with a 17-13 mark when playing at the Rothman Center. SFU has won the last six contests, including a 75-64 triumph over the Knights earlier this season in Loretto on Jan. 5.
 
Scouting Robert Morris
The Colonials are the hottest team in the conference and are off to a perfect 11-0 start in NEC play. RMU is fresh off a 60-40 win over CCSU on Feb. 11 after barely knocking off Bryant 59-56 on Feb. 9. Robert Morris is led offensively by junior Nneka Ezeigbo with 10.6 ppg, while freshman Isabella Posset is averaging 7.9 ppg. Ezeigbo leads the team's rebounding efforts with 7.2 rpg, while sophomore Ire Ozzy-Momodu is also averaging 7.2 boards per contest. Posset paces the team in assists with 2.7 apg. RMU will play at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. prior to making the trip to Loretto for Monday night's showdown.
 
Series History
Robert Morris holds a narrow 43-42 lead over the Saint Francis in the all-time series. The Red Flash lead the series 27-15 when playing inside DeGol Arena. Monday's contest will be the first time the teams have met since SFU defeated RMU 66-56 in the NEC Championship on March 11, 2018.
 
Zezza on brink of breaking Saint Francis all-time blocks record
Senior forward Courtney Zezza (Plum, PA/Plum) is tied for first place all-time at SFU with 278 career blocks, which ranks third among active NCAA players. She needs one block to pass Cheril Meier (1982-86) for sole possession of first place in SFU history. Zezza leads the NEC this season and ranks tied for fifth in the country with 2.91 blocks per game.
 
Kovatch's electric three-point shooting
Senior guard Jess Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) ranks second in the country this season with 3.95 three-pointers made per game. She is the active career leader and ranks second in NCAA history in three-pointers made (442).
 
Red Flash riding five game winning streak
Saint Francis looks to keep its hot streak going as the Red Flash has won its last five games. It's the longest winning streak of the season and most consecutive wins since closing last season with eight straight victories prior to the NCAA tournament.
