Erie, Pa.- The Saint Francis water polo played four games at the Laker Invite this past weekend and went 1-3. The Red Flash defeated Salem 12-9, but lost to La Salle 11-10, VMI 14-12, and McKendree 15-7.
La Salle
- Breanna Dupperon (Regina, Canada/Campbell Collegiate) and Ani Aghakhanian (La Crescenta, Calif/La Valley College) led the way with three goals apiece.
- It was a tight thrilling game as the Explorers narrowly won on a fourth quarter goal with two minutes left.
- Dupperon scored a late goal to cut the deficit to 11-10 but the score remained the same as the clock ran out.
VMI
- The Red Flash gave the Keydets a battle but VMI held on for a 14-12 victory.
- Aghakhanian repeatedly punished the VMI defense as she scored a remarkable six goals.
- Katie Wilke recorded 12 saves.
McKendree
- The Bearcats stormed out to an early 4-0 lead.
- The Red Flash valiantly fought but the deficit was 11-3 by the end of the period.
- Saint Francis tied McKendree 4-4 in the final period and the final score was 15-7.
- Aghakhanian and Kaitlyn Nguyen (Annandale, Va/Bishop Ireton) scored two goals apiece.
Salem
- The Red Flash, for the second time this season, defeated Salem by a score of 12-9.
- Aghakhanian, once again, led the Red Flash in scoring as she scored four goals.
- Rosalinda Rivera (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn High School) scored the first goal of her career.

With the conclusion of the Saint Francis swimming season,
Rebecca Pendleton (Maple Glen, PA/Upper Dublin High Schhol),
Julia Bradford (Edinboro, Pa./Villa Maria Academy),
Erin O'Neill (Landsdale, Pa/North Penn), and
Camillie Nguyen (Mason, Ohio/Mason) are now available to play for the water polo team.
