Scouting St. Francis Brooklyn

The Terriers are in a five-way tie for second place at 8-6 and own the tiebreaker over the Red Flash via a 91-87 win in Brooklyn earlier this season. St. Francis Brooklyn's 16 overall wins lead the conference as does its +1.7 scoring margin. Jalen Jordan leads the Terriers at 15.5 ppg and is tied for second in the league in three-point shooting at 42.4%. Senior Glenn Sanabria is the backbone of the team and ranks second in scoring at 12.8 ppg. He scored 23 points in the Terriers win over the Red Flash in the first meeting, scoring the winning basket with under 10 seconds to play. St. Francis Brooklyn is stellar defensively, ranking second in the conference in field goal pct. defense (42.4%) and third in scoring defense (69.7 ppg).

Series History

The Red Flash lead the all-time series, 42-39. The Terriers win this season ended a four-game SFU win streak.

Scouting LIU Brooklyn

The Blackbirds got a much-needed win over Sacred Heart on Saturday to move into 7th place in the NEC with a 6-8 record. Saint Francis will have to do a better job of slowing Raiquan Clark, who leads the Blackbirds and NEC in scoring at 20.3 ppg. He netted 27 in the first meeting despite a 74-67 win for the Red Flash. Redshirt sophomore Ty Flowers is second on the team in scoring at 14.2 ppg and is coming off a 24-point night in Saturday's win vs. Sacred Heart. Point guard Jashaun Agosto is the catalyst, ranking second in the league in assists at 5.0. The Blackbirds possess good length inside and lead the NEC in blocks per game (4.85).

Series History

The series with the Blackbirds is dead even at 38-38 after SFU's win in January. The Red Flash have won three of the last four.

King's Cooking

Senior Jamaal King (Salisbury, Md./Bishop O'Connell (Va.)) is playing his best basketball down the stretch. The First Team All-NEC selection from 2017-18 is averaging 21.7 ppg over his last three games to rank 10th in the league in scoring (15.2 ppg) and ninth in conference play at 16.4 ppg. King is 12th in SFU career scoring at 1,384 career points and seventh in assists with 351.

Defense Doing the Job

Saint Francis is known for its high-paced offense and rightfully so as the Flash rank third in the league in scoring at 76.4 points per game. However, its been the defense that has triggered the current seven-game win streak.  SFU is allowing just 72.1 ppg during the run and 68.7 ppg over the last three. Saint Francis ranks third in the league in 3PT FG% defense at 33.2%.

Saturday's Senior Day

Saint Francis will honor its five seniors on Saturday in King, Andre Wolford (North Olmstead, Ohio/Saint Ignatius), Luidgy Laporal (Petit-Boutg, France/Harcum C.C.), Jordan Forehand (Bridgewater, N.J./IMG Academy (Fla.)) and Michael Klebon (Paxinos, Pa./Southern Columbia). In addition to King's prowess, Wolford ranks eighth in school history in career threes with 175. Laporal has started 23 games in his only season at SFU and is averaging 4.5 ppg. Forehand has played in 19 career games and Klebon has seen action in 27.
