Thomas scores career-high as Red Flash pull out 86-64 win over the Terriers

Loretto, Pa. – Haley Thomas (Hooversville, PA/Bishop McCort) scored a career-high 27 points and the Red Flash held off a late Terriers rally as the Saint Francis women's basketball team (13-14, 10-5 NEC) picked up an 86-84 win over St. Francis Brooklyn (15-12, 9-6 NEC) on Monday at DeGol Arena. Jess Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) added 24 points and a career-high seven assists for the Red Flash.

"It was a great battle," Interim Head Coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl said. "Those are the games for players that are really fun to play in. The competition is at a high level. As a coach, it's a great game to coach in. You don't know how it's going to end up at times, but both teams played incredibly hard."

  • Two Leah Morrow (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus Africentric) free throws followed by an Aunesha Williams (Miami, FL/McEachern (Morgan State)) layup gave the Red Flash its largest lead of the night at 60-45 with 3:11 to play
  • The Terriers pulled within 11 as a layup at the buzzer cut SFU's lead to 64-53 at the end of the third frame
