Scouting Wagner

The Seahawks have had SFU's number of late, winning three straight since the famous Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea) buzzer-beater in the 2016-17 NEC Quarterfinal. Wagner is a grind-it-out type team who ranks last in the conference in scoring offense (66.5 ppg) but first in scoring defense (67.0). The Seahwaks lead the league in rebounding at +4.2 rpg. Senior Romone Saunders leads Wagner and ranks fourth in the NEC in scoring (16.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.1 rpg). Elijah Davis is next in scoring at 11.0 ppg.

Series History

Wagner has won four of the last five meetings and three straight, including an 83-79 win in Loretto in January in a game that saw Elijah Davis match his season-high with 20 points. Wagner leads the all-time series, 37-36.

Scouting Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart is an offensive juggernaut, leading the NEC in points per game at 79.8. The Pioneers shoot 45.5% from the field and 36.2% from three-point range. Senior Sean Hoehn ranks third in the NEC in scoring at 17.6 points per contest while freshman Koreem Ozier and sophomore E.J. Anosike also average in double figures at 14.5 ppg and 14.2 ppg. Freshman point guard Cameron Parker set the NEC freshman assist record and leads the league in assists per game at 6.96 per contest. Junior Ja'rel Spellman is the league's top shot blocker at 3.07 per game. He recorded five blocks in the first meeting with SFU.

Series History

Saint Francis has won four straight and nine of the last 11 vs. the Pioneers. Most of the games have come down to the wire with SFU's last two wins coming in one-possession games. The Red Flash hold the all-time series lead, 18-14.

Mr. Everything

When it is all said and down, junior Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea) will leave Saint Francis as one of the greatest to ever grace DeGol Arena. Braxton is just 91 points shy of becoming the third player in program history to record 1,500 career points and 800 career rebounds, joining the legendary Maurice Stokes and Sandy Williams. Braxton is also four assists shy of entering the career top 10 list, which will make him the first player in program history to rank in the top 10 in points, rebounds and assists.

Chasing the Title

The Red Flash would clinch its first-ever outright NEC regular-season title with two wins this week. The only time SFU claimed the regular-season title was in 1990-91 when the Red Flash shared identical 13-3 records with Fairleigh Dickinson but owned the tiebreaker over the Knights. The top-seeded Red Flash knocked off FDU in the NEC Championship game that season for its only NCAA Tournament Appearance.

70-Point Threshold
SFU's measure for success has been its ability to reach the 70-point plateau. The Red Flash are 14-5 when hitting 70 or more points and just 1-7 when held under 70. SFU scored 66 points in its loss to LIU Brooklyn on Saturday, ending a streak of nine straight games with 70 or more points.
