Stampede: A Bison Invite Preview

Loretto, Pa.- This weekend, the Saint Francis water polo team travels to Bucknell for the Bison Invite. The Red Flash went 1-3 in the Brown Invite to open the 2019 season. The opponents are slated as the following: #18 Wagner and La Salle on Saturday at 2:00 pm and 7:20 pm respectively and Gannon and Salem on Sunday at 10:40 am and 4:00 pm.

Scouting Wagner

Wagner enters the weekend with a 4-4 record after going 3-1 at the Brown Invite. The Seahawks defeated host Brown, Saint Francis, Bucknell, and lost to Harvard. The Red Flash lost 24-3 to the Wagner as thirteen different Seahawks players scored. Erica Hardy continued to be the main scoring threat for the school on Grimes Hill.

Scouting La Salle

La Salle was blanked at the Bison Invite going 0-4 to open the season. Harvard held La Salle scoreless to conclude the Invite and the Red Flash won 13-8 over the Explorers. Sarah DeFusco scored five goals against the Red Flash thus containing her prowess will be crucial.

Gannon opens the 2019 season at the Bison Invite. The Lady Knights went 7-12 last year. Gannon's leading scorer in 2018 Campbell Ruh returns to pace the Lady Knights' charge. Ruh recorded 53 goals and 27 saves for 80 points. Goalie Isabelle Vieira posted a .425 save percentage in 2018.

He played and was a two-time CWPA Mid-Atlantic All-Conference selection at Slippery Rock.
