Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | David Halstead

SFU extends win streak to four in 85-68 victory over CCSU

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's basketball (8-10, 7-3 NEC) rolled past Central Connecticut State (6-14, 3-7 NEC) to pick up its fourth straight win in an 83-68 victory on Saturday at DeGol Arena. Jess Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) led all scorers with 29 points, while Courtney Zezza (Plum, PA/Plum) had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

SFU great Jess Zinobile was honored in a pregame ceremony as part of Legends Night as her jersey was unveiled in the rafters prior to the Red Flash's game with the Blue Devils. The recognition was part of a celebration of 50 years of women's athletics at Saint Francis.

Robinson Fruchtl's Reaction
"We had balanced scoring today," Interim Head Coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl said. "We had four people in double-figures. I thought we had some key contributions off the bench. I thought Aunesha Williams (Miami, FL/McEachern (Morgan State)) came in and gave us a really good spark defensively and on the boards."
