Red Flash fall on the road at Robert Morris; earn No. 4 seed in NEC Tournament

Moon Township, Pa. – Saint Francis women's basketball (14-16, 11-7 NEC) dropped a hard-fought 66-53 decision to Robert Morris (19-10, 16-2 NEC) on Thursday at the North Athletic Complex. Jess Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) led the Red Flash with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Haley Thomas (Hooversville, PA/Bishop McCort) added 10 points and four boards.
 
First Quarter Recap
  • Robert Morris got off to a hot start, taking an 11-0 lead with 6:08 to play in the first period
  • Aunesha Williams (Miami, FL/McEachern (Morgan State)) connected on a three-pointer followed by 1-of-2 free throws as SFU cut the Colonials' lead to 13-7 with 1:29 remaining
  • RMU held a 16-8 advantage at the end of the first stanza

  • Saint Francis used a 15-3 run over the next six minutes as a Thomas three-pointer capped the surge and trimmed RMU's lead to 41-37 with 2:02 left
