SAN DIEGO, Calif.- On Friday afternoon, the Saint Francis water polo team (6-14) fell to the Aztecs of San Diego State 12-7 under a brilliant blue sky.

• The Red Flash struck first with a goal by Kelsey Gring (Sinking Spring, Pa/Wilson). 
• SDSU responded with three goals to lead 3-1 at the end of the first period. 
• The second period only witnessed two goals. Unfortunately, both scorers were the property of the Aztecs. 
• SDSU ran the score to 8-1 before Caroline Gillespie (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn High School) broke the streak with a goal to bring the score to 8-2 at the end of the third period.
• Despite goals by Ani Aghakhanian (La Crescenta, Calif/La Valley College), Metztli Enriquez (Atwater, CA/El Capitan), Kaitlyn Nguyen (Annandale, Va/Bishop Ireton), Gabby Garritson (Houston, Texas/Clear Lake High School), and Breanna Dupperon (Regina, Canada/Campbell Collegiate) in the fourth period, the final score was 12-7 SDUS.
