NEW YORK CITY - Saint Francis University junior guard
Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea) has been named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press.
Braxton becomes the first Saint Francis player to be recognized on an AP All-American Team since Jeff Hamilton in 1985 and just the third all-time. Maurice Stokes was named AP Third Team All-American in 1955.
The Northeast Conference has placed a player on the honorable mention list every year since 2001. The last five players from the conference to earn the distinction were Junior Robinson (Mount St. Mary's, 2018), Jerome Frink (LIU Brooklyn, 2017), Cane Broome (Sacred Heart, 2016), Jalen Cannon (St. Francis Brooklyn, 2015) and Karvel Anderson (Robert Morris, 2014).
The honor caps off a noteworthy junior season for Braxton, who previously became the first SFU NEC Player of the Year since Mike Iuzzolino in 1991.
