Red Flash upended by Seahawks in New York

Staten Island, NY – The defending NEC champions Wagner Seahawks used a strong first half to pick-up its second conference win of the season against the Saint Francis lacrosse team (3-7, 0-2) on Sunday afternoon. The Red Flash saw two goals from Senior Morgan Day (New Park, Pa./Kennard Dale) and goals from Amanda Heidt (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy), Lauren Ryan (Fallston, Md./Notre Dame Prep), and Shea Moran (Windermere, Fla./West Orange) in the loss.
 
Turning Point
 
Lauren Ryan (Fallston, Md./Notre Dame Prep) gave the Red Flash an early lead 45 seconds after Wagner's Madeline Seims tied the game at one at the 24:03 mark. The Seahawks closed out the first half on an 11-0 scoring run, taking a 12-2 lead into the half. After halftime, Megan Drum extended Wagner's lead to eleven and pushed the Seahawks scoring run to 12 straight. Two goals from Morgan Day (New Park, Pa./Kennard Dale) and a man-up goal from Shea Moran (Windermere, Fla./West Orange) brought SFU within eight, but SFU was unable to get closer than that as Wagner went on to win the match 17-5
