LORETTO, Pa.- The Saint Francis track & field teams depart Loretto to compete in the NEC Outdoor Championships held in New Britain, Connecticut this weekend on May 4th and 5th. 

At last year's NEC Outdoor Championships, the men's squad finished third and the women's team placed sixth. 

The men's squadron is attempting to capitalizing on the momentum gained at the NEC Indoor Championships when they finished second.

Notable returners from last year's NEC Championships: Dashaun Jackson (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) (winner in the 110m Hurdles), Benjamin Ross (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) (first in the Hammer Throw), and Sara Phelan (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg)) (gold in the Javelin). 

The championships begin on Saturday with the Javelin event at 8:30 am.
