Women's soccer hits the road for match at VCU

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's soccer (1-4-1) hits the road for its final non-conference match at VCU (5-1-1) Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.
 
Scouting VCU
The Rams are coming off a 1-0 win over Pittsburgh on Thursday. VCU opened the season with four straight wins over High Point, Longwood, Loyola (Md.) and UNC Wilmington. The Rams then fought to a scoreless tie at Wake Forest before falling to Old Dominion last Sunday. Redshirt junior midfielder Emma Kershner leads the team with six points on two goals and two assists.
 
Series History
VCU leads the all-time series history 2-1. The Rams won the most recent meeting 2-1 on August 30, 2013 at the George Washington Invitational in Washington D.C.
 
McGhee's goal ups her career total
Alyssa McGhee (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) scored for the Red Flash against Buffalo in the 40th minute off a Vivien Ruettgers (Graefelfing, Germany) assist. The senior forward has a team-high 17 goals in her SFU career.
 
SFU looks to snap four match skid
Saint Francis has dropped its past four contests with a defeat at Colorado College followed by home losses to Niagara, Youngstown State and Buffalo. The last time SFU dropped four in a row was Sept. 6-16, 2018 when the Red Flash lost four straight non-conference matches.
