Red Flash set to open NEC play at Mount St. Mary's

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's soccer (1-5-1) opens Northeast Conference play at Mount St. Mary's (1-6-0) on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.

Scouting Mount St. Mary's
The Mountaineers picked up its first win of the season in a 1-0 triumph at American on Sunday. Junior forward Jasmine McCree had the lone goal against the Eagles. Mount St. Mary's goalkeeper Maggie Barron made a season-high 12 saves, including a stop on a penalty kick to earn the shutout victory. The Mountaineers opened the season with six straight defeats and were held scoreless in all six matches against Howard, Radford, Towson, UMBC, Campbell and Penn.

Series History
Saint Francis is 20-9-1 in the all-time series history against Mount St. Mary's. The Red Flash have won ten straight contests against the Mountaineers, including a 4-0 victory in the Northeast Conference semifinals last season on Nov. 2, 2018.

SFU in NEC openers
The Red Flash have won its last two NEC openers after pulling out a 1-0 overtime win over LIU Brooklyn to kick off conference play last season. Saint Francis has won 10 of its last 11 NEC openers with the only defeat coming in 2016.

Five match non-conference slump
Saint Francis is eager to shake out of a five match losing streak after concluding non-conference play with a 5-1 defeat at VCU on Sunday. It's the longest slump for SFU since losing nine straight in 2015.

Tarosky scores first career goal
Senior forward Abigail Tarosky (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) scored her first career goal against VCU when she knocked in a rebound from Alyssa McGhee's (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) shot in the 13^th minute.
