SFU picks up 4-0 win over Rider

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis junior midfielder Lucas Rosa (Atibaia, Brazil/COC Atibaia) scored two first half goals and freshman forward Jonathan Neil (Caledon East, Ontario/Robert F Hall) added two goals in the final 10 minutes to give the Red Flash (2-3-0) a 4-0 win over Rider (2-3-0) on Saturday at Stokes Soccerplex.
 
Highlights
  • Rosa used a short pass from Gabriel Castro (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Lausanne Collegiate School) in front of the goal and knocked the ball into the back of the net to give the Red Flash a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute
  • Rosa struck again just over 10 minutes later as he scored from the top of the box off a Kevin Smolyn (Holland, PA/Germantown Academy) assist to give SFU a 2-0 lead in the 42nd minute
  • Neil took a pass from Lucas Canineu (Corbin, Ky/Corbin) and chipped the ball past the goalkeeper as SFU took a 3-0 lead in the 81st minute
  • Neil scored again in the 84th minute off an assist from Canineu and CJ Smolyn (Holland, PA/Germantown Academy)
