Women's soccer falls to Youngstown State, 3-2

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's soccer (1-3-1) saw a second half lead disappear as the Red Flash fell to Youngstown State (2-4-0) 3-2 on Sunday at Stokes Soccerplex.

SFU held a 2-1 lead following a Corinne Renninger (Bechtelsville, Pa./Boyertown) penalty kick goal in the 53rd minute. The Penguins responded quickly with goals in the 57th and 61st minutes that proved to be enough to give YSU the road victory.

Saint Francis took an early 1-0 lead following a brilliant strike from Aubrey Suydam (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) off an Emilee Barnett (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) assist in the 10th minute. Youngstown State answered with a goal in the 26th minute to knot the match at 1-1. The score would remain tied until Renninger's second half penalty stroke gave the Red Flash the brief lead.
