Red Flash set to host Bryant and CCSU

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's basketball (8-12, 6-3 NEC) returns to action hosting Bryant (5-13, 3-4 NEC) on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. and CCSU (2-18, 1-8 NEC) on Monday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.
 
Scouting Bryant
The Bulldogs have had an up and down start to NEC play, winning only one of the first four league games before picking up victories in two of the last three contests over LIU and Mount St. Mary's. Bryant is coming off a 58-45 loss to Wagner on Monday. The Bulldogs are averaging 57.8 ppg, while allowing 61.0 ppg. Senior Sydney Holloway paces the team in scoring (9.9 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg). Freshman Nicole Gallagher is second in scoring, averaging 9.7 ppg.
 
Series History
Saint Francis leads the all-time series history, 12-9. The Red Flash have won three straight over Bryant, including a 63-60 win earlier this season on Jan. 2 in Smithfield, R.I.
 
Scouting CCSU
The Blue Devils sit in the cellar of the NEC standings and have only recorded one conference win this season. CCSU defeated Wagner 66-63 on Jan. 25 before narrowly falling to Sacred Heart on Monday, 54-52. The Blue Devils are averaging 57.5 ppg, while allowing 56.9 ppg. Junior Ashley Berube leads the team in scoring (13.8 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rpg). Junior Emma McCamus is second in scoring, averaging 10.9 ppg.
 
Series History
Saint Francis leads the all-time series history 32-13 and has won four of the last five meetings with the Blue Devils. SFU has won two straight over CCSU, including a 64-52 victory earlier this season on Jan. 4 in New Britain, Conn.
 
Dettwiller Named NEC Rookie of the Week
Saint Francis freshman Katie Dettwiller (Portsmouth, Ohio/Notre Dame) was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on Wednesday. The Portsmouth, Ohio native tallied a career-high 17 points and nine rebounds to lead SFU to a 67-59 win over St. Francis Brooklyn. The 6-foot-4 post player, who did not commit a turnover in the victory, made all seven of her field goal attempts.
 
Think Pink Saturday
Saturday's game vs. Bryant will be the 13th annual Think Pink game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness. Everyone wearing pink will receive admission for $5 with all proceeds benefiting making strides against breast cancer. Survivors and a guest will receive free admission.

Home Sweet DeGol
Saint Francis returns to the friendly confines of DeGol Arena following a two-game road trip to Brooklyn. SFU holds a 3-1 record when playing at home in conference play. The only blemish came to Merrimack on Jan. 20.
