Loretto, Pa. – The Red Flash men's volleyball team (3-6) picked up its first sweep of the season tonight, downing St. Francis Brooklyn (2-4) in convincing fashion.
Set One
· SFBK began leading 3-0, holding a 1-3 point lead until the score was 15-12.
· After tying the set at 15, the Red Flash finished its 9-2 run to take a 21-17 lead.
· SFU never looked back, extending the lead a point further and winning by five.
· Michael Fisher (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led all players with five kills.
· Blake Liprando (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) and Joshua Blair (Matterson. Illnois/Marian Catholic) each added three kills, and Roman Szwabinsky (Columbus, Ohio/Westerville South) notched 12 assists.
· Final Score: SFU 25, SFBK 20
Set Two
· The Red Flash took control of the second set, quickly jumping out to a convincing 8-2 lead.
· The teams began to trade points, but SFU continued to extend its lead, eventually reaching nine at 15-7 and 19-10, and 11 at the conclusion of the set.
· Until the end of the set, SFBK could not cut it any closer than seven.
· Fisher had four kills, and Blake Liprando (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) and Zac Cabral (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) each added three.
· Szwabinsky continued his strong day with 13 assists.
· SFU registered 13 total kills and eight digs in the set.

Set Three
· The teams exchanged points to begin, seeing an early 3-3 tie, then the Red Flash held onto a small lead for the first half of the set.
· SFBK eventually tied the match at 12 and took a two-point lead at 14-12.
· The Red Flash answered strongly, using a 3-0 run to retake the lead.
· Fans watched the teams continue to trade blows, seeing ties at 15 and 16 before SFU went up by two.
· The Red Flash used its momentum to pull away late, reaching a lead of five and winning by four.
