Kent, Ohio – The Saint Francis University women's lacrosse team defeated the Golden Flashes of Kent State University with a score of 18-13. The Red Flash improved to 3-4 on the season while the Golden Flashes fall to 0-6.
How it Happened
Junior
Emileigh Scott (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) struck first, and never stopped, to put the Red Flash up 1-0 just over two minutes into play. The Golden Flashes answered nearly immediately and the score remained tight during the first 10 minutes of play with back-and-forth goal scoring. The Red Flash went on a 6-2 scoring run to extend their lead to 9-5 going into halftime. The Golden Flashes took advantage of the Red Flash slow start to the second half putting away two unanswered goals, the Red Flash found some momentum of their own and put away six goals in a matter of six minutes to bring their lead to 15-7. The Golden Flashes had a last stitch effort to make a comeback logging three goals to end the day, however that wasn't enough and the Red Flash came out on top with a final score of 18-13.
