LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team (1-3, 0-0) fell to King (1-0, 0-0) in its first of two matches this weekend, three sets to one.

COACH RUMBAUGH'S COMMENTS
"Congratulations to King. Today, they outplayed, outworked, and outhustled us. Now we have to get ready for the quick turnaround tomorrow afternoon."
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
· The teams went back and forth and were tied at seven points, and again at 13 after the Red Flash took a brief lead.
· Following the 13-13 tie, Saint Francis took a slight lead, pushing it to three at 20-17.
· The Red Flash took set one 25-21, sealing set point with a block from Roman Szwabinsky and Joshua Blair.
SET TWO
· After beginning the second set tied at five, SFU went on a 5-1 run to pull ahead 10-6 before King tied it at 10 following a timeout.
· The Tornado took a 17-15 lead to force a Red Flash timeout.
· After tying the set at 17 and 18, King had set point with a 24-21 lead.
· Saint Francis cut King's lead to 24-23 but King took set two 25-23.
SET THREE
· King jumped out to a 6-2 lead and maintained a four-point lead at 13-9.
· The Tornado extended its lead to six at 16-10 and then seven at 24-17 after SFU got within three, ultimately taking the third set 25-18.
SET FOUR
· Set four was close for the entire set with neither team building more than a two-point lead.
· The set was tied at 22 before SFU scored back-to-back to lead 24-23. King tied the set at 24.
· The teams were tied again at 25 and 26 but King took the match 28-26.
STATS
· AJ Schmidt led the Red Flash with 11 kills. Zac Cabral and Alex Finch each added 10.
· Roman Szwabinsky picked up a team-high 31 assists.
· Cabral led the match with five block assists, and Schmidt added four.
· Saint Francis out-blocked King, 10.5-4.0.
· Saint Francis also led in kills (49-41), assists (42-37), and digs (41-35), but King committed less attack errors (27-17), and service errors (22-19).
GAME NOTES
· The Red Flash took set one, but dropped the final three, including a beyond-25 loss in set four (28-26)
· The loss marks King's first-ever win against Saint Francis.
