A Senior Day Battle Results In A Tie for Women's Soccer

» The Saint Francis Red Flash Senior Day match resulted in a 1-1 tie against Sacred Heart University.
» Red Flash seniors Corinne Renninger, Leanna Choo, Rhiallie Jessell, Aleigh Heckman, and Alex Martinez were all honored for their contributions prior to the match. 
» Goalkeeper Sarah McConnon made nine saves in the 110 minutes she played. 
» This match marks the first tie of the season for the Red Flash. 

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Seven minutes after the Red Flash took a 1-0 lead, Sacred Heart forward Desiree Crawford was able to sneak the ball past McConnon to tie the game at 1 in the 53rd minute. After that point both teams were unable to find the back of the net even though they combined for nine shots on goal for the remainder of the game. 


FLASH MOMENTS
Senior forward Leanna Choo was able to get past the Pioneer defense and retrieve her own rebound to fire it past Sacred Heart goalkeeper Elyssa Kipperman to get the Red Flash's only goal of the game. Choo's goal came just 1 minute and 57 seconds into the second half of play. 

FLASH NUGGETS
This match marks the first tie for the Red Flash since August 25th, 2019 when they knotted up with UMBC 2-2 in double overtime.

Choo has now scored goals in back to back home games for the Red Flash.
