Football's Big Second Half Leads to 27-14 Victory at Morgan State

» Kahtero Summers scored his team-leading fourth TD of the season and finished with four catches for 56 yards. Brandan Lisenby led all Red Flash receivers with 64 yards receiving.
» Lovell Armstead became Saint Francis' first 100-yard rusher of the season with his career-high 116 yards.   
» Donnell Brown had a career-high eight tackles, including seven solo. Terrell Smith had his first interception of the season on Saint Francis' final defensive play.
» Despite the big victory, the Red Flash have lost the time of possession battle in all-five games this season.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Saint Francis entered the second half tied 7-7 and Alex Schmoke gave the Red Flash their second lead of the game with a 47-yard field goal.
 
Morgan State immediately responded with a field goal attempt of their own that was blocked by Ray Crittenden. On the ensuing Red Flash drive, Sliwoski's 45-yard run to the two-yard line set up a Tate Myers three-yard touchdown reception and gave Saint Francis a 17-7 lead.
 
After forcing a three-and-out, Saint Francis produced a two-play, 48-yard touchdown drive. Brandan Lisenby had a 45-yard catch and Armstead capped off the drive with a three-yard touchdown run, as the Red Flash took a 24-7 lead.

FLASH MOMENTS
Neither team could grab momentum until Saint Francis constructed an 11-play, 70-yard drive in the second quarter. On the drive, the Red Flash converted a fourth-and-one two plays before Summers scored on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Sliwoski. The score gave Saint Francis a 7-0 lead midway through the second quarter.  
 
Morgan State responded with a 13-play, 82-yard yard drive that was capped off by a Romello Kimbrough two-yard touchdown drive and tied the game 7-7. The drive was 5:42 and immediately followed Saint Francis' 5:22 drive.
 
In the third quarter, Saint Francis scored 17 unanswered points and took a 24-7 lead. Two big plays, Sliwoski's 45-yard run and Lisenby's 45-yard catch, set up two short touchdowns, while Schmoke converted a career-long 47-yard field goal.
 
With a 24-7 lead in the fourth quarter, Saint Francis extended the lead to 27-7 with a field goal after a 15-play, 84-yard drive. Morgan State produced its second touchdown of the game with 3:40 remaining and cut the lead to 27-14. However, the Red Flash hung on to the 13-point lead to seal their victory.

FLASH NUGGETS
Summers' second quarter touchdown catch was his team-leading fourth of the season and marked the third-straight game Saint Francis scored first.
 
Tate Myers scored a three-yard touchdown on his first-career reception.
 
Lovell Armstead finished with a career-high 116 yards. His 51 first-half yards already set a career-high, surpassing his previous total of 31. He also scored his team-leading second rushing touchdown of the season.

Terrell Smith produced the game's only turnover with his interception on the last Saint Francis defensive play of the game.

Ray Crittenden had a crucial field goal attempt block that was followed by 17-straight points for the Red Flash.

UP NEXT
The Red Flash return home to face LIU on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. for their homecoming game. The matchup with the Sharks begins a six-game conference stretch in the season's final month and a half.
