Rider Edges Saint Francis Field Hockey, 2-1

» Saint Francis University lost to Rider University 2-1 in Northeast Conference field hockey action on Sunday.
» Eva Valentini (Junin, Buenos Aires, Argentina) scored late in the game for the Red Flash.
» Chloe South (Lusby, Md.) tied her career high with 13 saves against the Broncs
» The Red Flash return home to face Long Island on Friday afternoon.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Rider scored twice in the first 17 minutes of the game. Valentini scored with 62 seconds left, but Saint Francis could not get another shot off in the final minute of the match.

FLASH MOMENTS
Valentini converted a penalty stroke at the 58:58 mark to cut the margin to 2-1. The goal came just after the freshman had a shot stopped by the Rider defense.

FLASH NUGGETS
Valentini scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season and fuels the team with seven goals and six assists for 20 points.

South also had 13 saves in the contest against nationally-ranked James Madison earlier this year.
