BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Saint Francis women's basketball team (11-5, 9-1 NEC) saw its win streak come to a close at St. Francis Brooklyn (4-10, 4-10 NEC) on Sunday, falling by a 63-55 margin to wrap up the series.

KEY MOMENTS
The Terriers opened the fourth quarter with an 8-2 run. After
Karson Swogger cut the SFBK lead to three with 3:35 to play, St. Francis Brooklyn scored the next pair of baskets before the Red Flash started fouling. The Terriers made nine free throws down the stretch in the final 1:12 of play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter went back-and-forth as the game saw four lead changes before the media timeout with four minutes remaining in the quarter. The Terriers grabbed seven offensive rebounds in the first six minutes but shot 25 percent as the Red Flash defense tallied three blocks.
SFBK held the lead at the media timeout and for the remainder of the first quarter as the Red Flash trailed 18-16 after 10 minutes of play.
Jada Dapaa scored a team-high five points in the first quarter – all in the final three minutes, as six SFU players scored points.
The second quarter was all about defense as each team had just one basket in the first five minutes. Dapaa got the Red Flash back within one point, 21-20, with 4:44 remaining in the first half before the Terriers responded with a three.
Lili Benzel scored five-straight Red Flash points, including a three-pointer to continue her streak. Dapaa tied the game at 27 with 2:22 to play in the half.
Karson Swogger gave SFU its first lead since the first quarter with her second triple of the game but SFBK responded with its seventh three-pointer of the first half.
Haley Thomas beat the buzzer with a layup to give the Red Flash the 32-30 lead entering the locker room.
The Terriers tied the game to begin the second half but Benzel and Swogger responded with the Red Flash's next 10 points, both reaching double figures before the media timeout. SFU led by as many as five points during the third quarter but SFBK tied the game at 42 with 1:40 remaining in the quarter – a score that would hold moving into the final quarter.
SFBK took its first lead since the first half with the first basket of the fourth quarter. The Terriers went on an 8-2 run to take a 50-44 lead at the media timeout with 4:47 to play. The Red Flash could not overcome the deficit as SFBK were 9-of-12 from the charity stripe during the final quarter.
STATS
Saint Francis led the first half from the field, shooting 41.4 percent compared to St. Francis Brooklyn's 30.6 percent but the Terriers had the 43.8 percent to 33.3 percent advantage from three-point range.
SFBK was 4-of-12 from the free throw line before going 9-of-12 during the fourth quarter. The Terriers won the rebounding battle by a 43-37 margin.
GAME NOTES
- Dapaa recorded her third double-double of the season, finishing the game with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
- Benzel extended her three-pointer streak to 23 games.
- Swogger reached double figures for the 11th-straight game, totaling 16 points.
