MOUNT JOY, Pa. – The Red Flash bowling team took fifth in the first NEC event of the season, with day one and two wins against Wagner and No. 7 Mount St. Mary's and a third-day loss to No. 20 Fairleigh Dickinson.
Freshman Kaitie Conte took charge for the Red Flash, placing third in the individual competition by averaging 212.33 pins per game in three games, including a 245 in game one. Conte finished with 637 total, just two pins behind second place, and 14 pins behind first, both competitors from FDU.

TEAM RESULTS
The Red Flash concluded the weekend by placing fifth in the tournament with a record of 5-4, going 3-0 against Wagner, 2-1 against No. 7 Mount, and 0-3 against No. 20 Fairleigh Dickinson. Against FDU, Saint Francis registered its first 1,000-pin game of the season in a 1117-1070 loss. SFU finished the weekend with 8,131 total pins, averaging 184.8 per game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first day of the weekend against Wagner, the Red Flash won 3-0. In the traditional match, SFU won 917-809, followed by an 883-771 baker set. In the best-of-seven, the Red Flash downed the Seahawks, 4-2, with a total score of 1076-971.
The second day placed the Red Flash against No. 7 Mount St. Mary's. A strong performance on the day helped fuel SFU past Mount, 2-1. The traditional set was a battle, with the Red Flash winning by a small seven-point margin, 891-884. In the second set, the bakers match saw the Red Flash dominate for a 943-817 win. Mount took the best-of-seven in four games, an 885-702 loss for Saint Francis.
On Sunday, the Red Flash concluded the event against No. 20 Fairleigh Dickinson, falling 0-3. The traditional match ended 1117-1070 Knights, with the Red Flash reaching their first 1,000-pin traditional game of the season. In baker, FDU won, 1086-977. The Knights also picked up the sweep in the best-of-seven, with total pins 845-673.
