NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Red Flash bowing team will head to New Jersey this weekend for the second and final NEC event of the regular season.
Last weekend, Saint Francis placed fifth in NEC #1, going 5-4 on the weekend including a 3-0 win against Wagner and a 2-1 win over No. 7 Mount St. Mary's. Freshman Kaitie Conte was the highest individual finisher for the Red Flash, placing third, just three pins behind second place and 14 pins behind first.

THE COMPETITION
Long Island comes into the weekend after placing sixth in NEC #1, just behind Saint Francis. The Sharks went 4-5 on the weekend, bringing their season record to 13-17. In the first NEC, Long Island beat Sacred Heart and Wagner and fell to Duquesne.
St. Francis Brooklyn placed seventh last weekend, posting a 1-8 record. NEC #1 was the Terriers first event of the season, which saw them fall to Mount, Sacred Heart and Duquesne.
No. 21 Sacred Heart nearly won the first NEC event, placing second with a 7-2 record, just one game behind Fairleigh Dickinson. The Pioneers beat Long Island, St. Francis Brooklyn, and Mount on day three to secure second place. Sacred Heart now sits at 12-5 on the season.
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash concluded the weekend by placing fifth in the first NEC event with a record of 5-4, going 3-0 against Wagner, 2-1 against No. 7 Mount, and 0-3 against No. 20 Fairleigh Dickinson. Against FDU, Saint Francis registered its first 1,000-pin game of the season in a 1117-1070 loss. SFU finished the weekend with 8,131 total pins, averaging 184.8 per game. Saint Francis now sits at 5-7 on the year.
