LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis women's basketball team (12-6, 10-2 NEC) and Mount St. Mary's (13-4, 12-2 NEC) meet in a home-and-home series on Sunday and Monday. Sunday's tip-off in Emmitsburg is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN3. Monday's game in Loretto is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Mount St. Mary's was the unanimous choice to win the Northeast Conference this season after finishing the 2019-20 season second in the league and reaching the 20-win plateau. The Mountaineers currently sit atop of the NEC standings with a 12-2 conference record. MSM is on a seven-game win streak that features wins over Fairleigh Dickinson, LIU, Bryant and most recently Merrimack earlier this week.

The Mountaineers' projected starters feature all three players averaging double figures this season in red-shirt senior Kendall Bresee (14.5 ppg), junior Michaela Harrison (12.6 ppg) and red-sophomore Aryna Taylor (11.1 ppg). Bresee is also the team's top rebounder, averaging 9.0 rpg this season.

SERIES HISTORY
Saint Francis leads the all-time series 38-31 against Mount St. Mary's. The Mountaineers swept the Red Flash in 2019-20 for the first time since 2007-08 as MSM broke an SFU four-game win streak. Mount St. Mary's won by a 68-44 margin on Feb. 15, 2020 in Emmitsburg before winning two weeks later by a 66-55 margin in Loretto.

On Feb. 29, 2020, the Mountaineers started the game red hot, shooting 79 percent from the floor during the first quarter to build a lead that a second-half push by the Red Flash could not overcome. Haley Thomas led all players with 18 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double as she tied for a game-high nine rebounds. Karson Swogger also scored in double figures with 14 points.

LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis split a pair of overtime games against Sacred Heart at DeGol Arena on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Pioneers took Tuesday's game by a 76-70 margin before the Red Flash earned the 72-67 victory the following day.

During Tuesday's senior game, senior Karson Swogger led the SFU offense with 22 points and five assists while senior Haley Thomas led SFU's 50-rebound effort with 13 boards. Red-shirt junior Lili Benzel converted on a career-high six three-pointers and totaled 19 points on the night.

In Wednesday's win, Swogger again led the Red Flash offense with 17 points. Jada Dapaa recorded her fourth double-double of the season, scoring a career-high 16 points and adding 12 rebounds. Katie Dettwiller had a career-high four blocks after totaling three in Tuesday's game.
