CHARLESTON, W.V. – The Red Flash men's volleyball team swept Charleston on Saturday afternoon, completing a 2-0 weekend in West Virginia.
The win marks the fourth in a row for Saint Francis, who now jumps ahead of Charleston for fourth place in EIVA play.

"I could tell we were a little tired today, so we had to rely on one another a lot more. We communicated really well and we played for each other, and it was a great team win today."
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
- Thomas Leahey started the match with a kill, jumpstarting a back-and-forth to a tie at nine.
- Charleston answered with two in a row, but consecutive kills from Joshua Blair knotted it back up.
- Tied at 13, a Leahey kill and an AJ Schmidt ace pushed the Red Flash to a 16-13 lead.
- Trevor Lewis got his fingerprints on the match with back-to-back kills, giving SFU an 19-14 lead.
- Charleston cut the lead to two at 20-18, but a Lewis kill and Golden Eagles errors pushed SFU to a 25-21 set win.
SET TWO
- The Red Flash jumped out to a 3-0 lead, holding onto it early in the set with help from consecutive Michael Fisher kills.
- Charleston cut it to two at 11-9, but the Red Flash continued to hold strong, using kills from Blair and Blake Liprando to maintain the lead.
- SFU never surrendered its lead, scoring the final two points capped off by a Leahey kill to take set two, 25-21.
SET THREE
- A Lewis kill and Charleston errors gave the Red Flash a 3-0 lead, but the Golden Eagles answered quickly to tie it at three.
- The teams went point-for-point to a 9-9 tie, then kills from Blair and Fisher gave the Red Flash a 13-9 lead.
- SFU continued to pile on, using aces from Schmidt and Liprando and a Lewis kill to extend the lead to six at 20-14.
- The Red Flash then finished the match on a 5-3 run to take the set, 25-17, and complete the sweep.

- Aces (5-2)
- SFU also had less attack errors (16-14), but had two more service errors than Charleston.
- SFU hit .287 to .105 from Charleston
