LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team picked up its second consecutive win, sweeping Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon at DeGol Arena.
Trevor Lewis and
Michael Fisher were again one and two in kills today, with Lewis picking up a match-high 11 and Fisher adding 10. Saint Francis hit a season-best .333, and also tied its season-high with 11.5 total blocks, with help from a season-high 23 block assists.

"It's always good to pick up a weekend sweep, we needed this for some momentum in the second half of the season. [Michael] Fisher had a good weekend, and [Trevor] Lewis has proven to be a very good right side for us."
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
- Sacred Heart started the match with four straight points and took a 5-1 lead, but the Red Flash battled back to cut the lead to one at 6-5.
- The Pioneers held their lead for a few more rallies, but a Thomas Leahey/Daniel Fry block and a Trevor Lewis kill tied the set at 10.
- Saint Francis scored the next point for the lead, and the teams reached a tie at 12, but the Red Flash followed with four of the next five points for a 16-13 lead.
- The teams found themselves tied yet again at 20, with SFU taking another lead with another team block and a Pioneers error.
- With SFU up 24-21, the Pioneers cut it to one, but Michael Fisher buried a kill to give the Red Flash a 25-23 win and a 1-0 lead.
SET TWO
- The Pioneers took another early lead in set two, going up 3-0, but SFU rallied to tie it at five.
- After trading points to a tie at eight, four Red Flash blocks and a Roman Szwabinsky ace kickstarted a 9-0 run, giving SFU a 17-8 lead.
- Saint Francis held strong with the lead, never letting Sacred Heart get within five and ending the set on a 5-0 run to take it, 25-14.
SET THREE
- Set three began back and forth, with the first two-point lead coming at 6-4 Sacred Heart.
- The teams found another tie nine thanks to a solo block from Fisher, helping jumpstart a 6-0 run for a 13-9 lead.
- Kills from Fisher and Lewis helped stretch the Red Flash lead to seven at 20-13.
- Saint Francis never looked back, using more blocks and more Lewis kills to take the set, 25-18, and complete the sweep.
