LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team was swept by No. 10 NJIT on Saturday afternoon, barely dropping the third set that would have kept the match alive.
Before the match, Saint Francis honored
Michael Fisher, Jason Najm, Daniel Fry, Roman Szwabinsky, and
Christian Griego, the five graduating members of the squad.

COACH RUMBAUGH'S COMMENTS
"We honored our five seniors today, and I love them all. We're going to work as hard as we can to get them one more home match before the season is over."
Rumbaugh referred to the EIVA playoffs, where SFU still has a chance to host the No. 4 seed vs. No. 5 seed match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
- NJIT jumped out to a 10-3 lead to force a timeout, and eventually stretched it to 17-8.
- The Red Flash cut it to six late, but the Highlanders held on to take set one, 25-17.
SET TWO
- The teams traded points to start the set, finding themselves tied at four before NJIT scored four straight to force an SFU timeout.
- Out of the timeout, the Red Flash stormed back to cut the deficit to 10-9, but NJIT answered to take a 19-10 lead.
- NJIT continued to hold the lead, taking set two, 25-13.
SET THREE
- SFU took an early 5-3 lead, eventually extending it to 11-6, forcing a Highlanders timeout.
- Out of the timeout, NJIT caught up to tie it at 13, and took a lead at 15-14.
- Tied at 18, NJIT scored three straight and five of six to take a 23-19 lead, but the Red Flash caught up to cut it to 23-22, but the Highlanders held on to take the set, 25-23, and complete the sweep.

- NJIT led in kills (35-33), assists (33-32), digs (33-29), blocks (6.0-3.0), and hitting percentage (.360-.101).
