Saint Francis comes up with the non-conference Saturday sweep

ERIE, PA- The Red Flash take two against non-conference opponents on Saturday April 3rd behind a Taylor Halbauer seven goal performance. Seven different Red Flash recorded goals in the two matchups.

Saint Francis 10, Mercyhurst 4

HOW IT HAPPENED
-SFU took the early lead with three straight goals, two from sophomore Abbie Carter and one from sophomore Taylor Halbauer.
-Mercyhurst got on the board with 13 seconds left in the first period to cut the lead to two, 3-1 SFU at the end of the first.
-30 seconds in Halbauer got her second goal of the game to make it 4-1 SFU. Not even a minute later she added another to increase the lead 5-1 with 6:50 left to play before halftime.
-Mercyhurst added two in an attempt to make a comeback, but not before Carter finds the back of the net once more to make it 6-3 SFU.
-Junior Julia Bradford notched her first goal of the day to increase SFU's lead 7-3 with just four seconds left in the second period.
-The third period was a defensive showdown as neither team was able to secure any goals. Junior Rosalinda Rivera tallied three saves.
-The Lakers started off the fourth with a goal within 12 seconds to make it 7-4 SFU.
-The Red Flash answered back with three straight goals. Halbauer found the back of the net twice and sophomore Addison Williams recorded her first on the day to secure the win.

STATS/NOTES
-Halbauer was the Red Flash's leading scorer with 5 against the Lakers. Carter was next adding three. Williams and Bradford each contributed one to conclude the scoring for SFU.
-SFU tallied 10 goals on 31 shots for a .323 shooting percentage.
-Bradford was the leading assister for SFU with four. Sophomore Haiden Lang recorded two assists. Carter and Halbauer each notched one as well.
-Halbauer had the Red Flash's most steals with four, while Lang and freshman Emese Szucs each tallied two.
-Halbauer and Bradford each drew an exclusion and there where no exclusions on the board for SFU.
-Rivera picks up the win as she played the full 32 minutes in front of the cage for the Red Flash, securing 11 saves (.733%) and only allowing four vs. the Lakers.
-SFU was two for two on powerplays, recording a 1.000 powerplay percentage during the matchup.

Saint Francis 8, Gannon 6

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Red Flash struck first from an Emese Szucs goal with 5:37 left to play in the first period.
-Gannon tied it up with less than three minutes left to play and nothing else from either side conspired, so tied game going into the second period.
-The Knights struck again but not before two SFU goals from sophomore Madeleine Voss and Addison Williams give SFU the 3-2 lead.
-Gannon found the back of the net to tie things up, but not before Halbauer puts us back on top to make it 4-3 SFU with 35 seconds left before halftime.
-Both teams went scoreless in the third period to keep the score 4-3 heading into the last eight minutes of play.
-The Red Flash and the Knights went goal for goal, Gannon notching the first one and Halbauer tallying her seventh on the day to make it 5-4 SFU with 6:43 to play.
-Gannon gets one then SFU a minute later to make it a tight 6-5 SFU.
-Another Gannon shot find the back of the net, but not before Bradford lets one go to put SFU back on top, 7-6.
-Lang gets one to find the back of the net for her first on the day to go up two goals on the Knights and secure the nightcap win for the Red Flash.

STATS/NOTES
-Halbauer was once again the leading scorer for SFU with two. Lang, Williams, Szucs, Bradford, and Voss all notched a goal in the win against the Knights.
-SFU took 27 shots, finding the back of the net eight times for a .296 shot percentage on the game.
-SFU drew two exclusions in 32 minutes of play.
-Carter had the most assists for the Red Flash with three. Szucs and Williams each helped for an assist each.
-Bradford tallied two of SFU's six total steals. Lang, Halbauer, Williams, and Rivera all recorded one steal each.
-Rivera gets her second win of the day playing all 32 minutes. She recorded 13 saves for a .684 save percentage and only allowed six goals.
