LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis cross country teams return to action this fall with a slate of meets in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in preparation for October's NEC Championships in the Nutmeg State.
The Red Flash begins the 2021 fall campaign Sept. 3 in Allegheny County with the Yinzer Classic, a Friday night meet co-hosted by Duquesne, Pitt, Robert Morris, and Carnegie Mellon. The race at Youthtowne Fields will mark SFU's first cross country meet since 2019.
Saint Francis will host the annual Father Bede Invitational on Sept. 11 at Immergrun Golf Course. The Saturday morning men's 8K and women's 6K will serve as SFU's lone home meet of the fall.
October kicks off with the prestigious Paul Short Run in the Lehigh Valley, as Lehigh will host its annual meet on Oct. 1 on the Goodman Campus Course. The competition in Bethlehem will be followed by an Oct. 16 meet at Gettysburg as the Red Flash runs the Aubrey Shenk Invitational.
Central Connecticut will host the 2021 Northeast Conference Championships at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Connecticut, on Oct. 30.
The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Championships will be hosted by Lehigh on Nov. 12 and the NCAA National Championships head to Tallahassee, Florida, on Nov. 20 for a meet hosted by Florida State. The ECAC/IC4A meet will be run in the Bronx, as Van Cortlandt Park serves as the picturesque setting for the meet on Nov. 20.
