Women's Soccer Falls to Central Connecticut State In Conference Home Opener

» Central Connecticut State scored three goals in the first half and once in the second half to secure the 4-0 win against Saint Francis in Northeast Conference women's soccer on Sunday.
» Goalkeeper Sarah McConnon (Springfield, Pa) had five saves for the Red Flash, while freshman goalkeeper Emma Sawich (McMurray, Pa) played in the second half and recorded one save.
» The women's soccer squad hits the road when they take on LIU next Sunday to try and win its first conference game. 

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Central Connecticut State scored three goals in the first half and once in the second half to get their second conference win of the season.

FLASH MOMENTS
Tomke Dziesiaty (Tornesch, Germany) recorded both shots on goal for the Red Flash but were stopped by Blue Devil goalkeepers Amanda McQuillan and Caitlin Murphy. 

Colletta Ozbey (Pittsburgh, Pa), Lauren Persichetty (Staten Island, N.Y), and Lauren Pyle (Lititz, Pa) all recorded one shot but the best opportunity of the game came from Pyle who missed an open net opportunity and kicked the ball out over top of the net. 

FLASH NUGGETS
The Red Flash will look for their first win since September 2 when they face LIU on October 3.

Saint Francis is 0-5 on the road while they are also 2-2 at home during the 2021 season.
