» Saint Francis University men's volleyball lost to the Flyers of Lewis University, 3-0 on Saturday for the Red Flash to drop to 1-3 overall for the 2022 season.
» Blake Liprando (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) recorded a double-double in the match by leading the Red Flash with 14 kills and ten digs on the day. Â
» Brandon Dunz (Lake View, N.Y./Frontier) made his first match start of the 2022 season.
» Ryan Parker (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) recorded a new career single game high of 24 assists to break his previous record of 22 assists that he recorded last season against George Mason University. Parker also recorded a new career single game high of six digs in the match to beat his previous record of four digs in which he also recorded against George Mason last season.
TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
The second set was a huge battle between both programs and saw a lot of action from Red Flash men's volleyball. The Red Flash were the first to take control in the second set, but the Flyers bounced back to control the second set early on. Saint Francis was able to respond later on in this set to make the Flyers work for the set. With the score 8-3 in favor of the Flyers, the Red Flash went on a 5-0 run thanks to kills from
Nathan Zini (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton-La Salle Catholic) and Liprando, along with a service ace fromÂ
Thomas Leahey (State College, Pa./State College Area). The Red Flash squad took its biggest lead of the match in this set thanks to a kill from Leahey to make the score 13-11. The second set continued to be a battle between both programs that had to be extended past 25. However, the Flyers were able to claim the extended second set, 29-27.
FLASH MOMENTS
The Red Flash got on the board first to start things off in the match for the first set. However, the Flyers took control by responding with a 5-0 run. This was the spark that the Flyers needed to maintain the lead throughout the remainder of the first set to clinch it, 25-20. However, the Red Flash team still hang in closely with last year's NCAA National Semifinalist Flyers.

Lewis University men's volleyball started off the third set by going on a 3-0 run. The Flyers maintained its lead for the entire third set. This allowed the Romeoville, Ill. program to claim the third and final set, 25-18.

After Saturday's match, the Red Flash are now 2-21 overall against the Flyers.

Prior to today's game, the last time the two teams competed against one another was last season in Loretto. The flyers took that game in straight sets.
