BALTIMORE, Md. – Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis earn their first victories of the season over Morgan State. The men won their match 4-3, while the women won their match 5-2.

Singles
Matt Blose clinched Saint Francis' 4-3 victory over Morgan State with his No. 6 singles win 6-3, 6-0 over Martial Kawunde. Sebastian Pinos led the Red Flash to a No. 1 singles victory with his 0-6, 6-4, 10-9 win over Nihit Rawal. Pinos' comeback victory comes one year after losing to Rawal 2-6, 1-6 in 2021.
 
Fabio Varella defeated Rhajzon Rankins in No. 3 singles 7-5, 6-3 and Daniel Vinces defeated Sebastian Lopez 6-4, 6-3 to earn Saint Francis' other two victories. The four singles victories come one season after they earned only two against the Bears in 2021.
 
Andrew Teixeira lost in No. 2 singles to Mikeal Carpenter 0-6, 6-2, 2-10, while Marc Fuste fell in No. 4 singles to Niles Rachal 4-6, 3-6.
 
Doubles
Saint Francis lost the doubles point by a 2-1 margin after Pinos and Christian Banti fell 3-6 to Rawal and Carpenter in No. 1 doubles and Varella and Fuste dropped their No. 2 doubles match 2-6 to Rankins and Rachel.
 
Zachary Palko and Fuste earned the first doubles victory of their collegiate careers with a No. 3 doubles win over Lopez and Kawunde 6-4.

Singles
Dominique Yeo earned the first win of her season with a 4-6, 6-0, 10-4 victory in No. 1 singles over Asmara Rose. Anouk Ma-Ajong followed Yeo with her first win, 7-6, 7-5 in No. 2 singles over Averiana Mitchell.
 
Bentre Vandeputte continued the hot start to her collegiate career with her 6-1, 6-1 No. 3 singles win over Anabel Torrente. Romina Cutipa defeated Nolwenn Cardoso in No. 4 singles 6-3, 3-6, 10-2.
 
Valeria Vinces fell in No. 5 singles 1-6, 2-4 to Hannah Smith and Nagisa Miyake lost to Stefania Moysiada in a narrow 4-6, 6-4, 4-10 No. 6 singles match.
 
Doubles
The Red Flash took the doubles point behind wins in No. 2 doubles from Vandeputte and Pruijmboom 6-4 over Smith and Kalawe and a No. 3 doubles win by Cutipa and Marie Discini 6-0 over Anabel Torrente and Stefania Moysiada.
 
Yeo and Anouk ma-Ajong dropped their No. 1 doubles match to Rose and Mitchell 3-6.
 
With singles and doubles victories on Sunday, Vandeputte and Cutipa completed a perfect 2-0 day. Vandeputte improved to 3-1 in the first four matches of her collegiate career.
