TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
The Red Flash jumped out to an early 13-4 lead to end the first quarter and extended the lead to 24-6 midway through the second quarter. LIU cut the deficit to 29-16 at halftime before a third-quarter surge.
After Mastellone started the second half with a three pointer, LIU went on a 9-0 run in over five minutes of game time that cut the deficit to 33-25. The Sharks held a slight advantage for the remainder of the quarter and Saint Francis held a 43-37 lead after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, LIU was within five points, 50-45, before Saint Francis scored nine-straight points to open a commanding 59-45 lead with 3:25 remaining before an eventual 66-50 victory.
FLASH NUGGETS
Benzel led the Red Flash in points for the second time this season, her first on Dec. 11 at Duquesne when she also scored 14 points.
Dapaa recorded her tenth double-digit rebound game of the season and raised her season mark to 9.9 per game.
Jordan McLemore had a season-high six assists, two shy of a career-high she set with Hartford on Jan. 18, 2020.
Miller recorded her second-straight double-digit game and third of the season with her season-high 13.
Maxwell had her sixth double-digit scoring game this season and shot of 50 percent from the field for the ninth time.
