Volleyball Falls to FDU at Home

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis University women's volleyball dropped a 3-0 match to Fairleigh Dickinson at home on Saturday.
 
>> With today's loss, the Red Flash drop to 6-15 overall and 4-4 in the Northeast Conference.
 
TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The Red Flash controlled the majority of the first set with the Knights not taking the lead until the score was 16-15. With the first set tied at 16, FDU went on a 3-0 run to take the 19-16 lead and control that lead for the remainder of first set for the Knights to take set one, 25-21. The Knights were able to continue its momentum from claiming set one to go on and claim the next two sets for FDU to claim the straight-set win.
 
FLASH MOMENTS 


The second set started off as a back-and-forth battle between the Knights and Red Flash. However, with set two tied at 12, the Knights secured a 3-0 run to take the lead and maintain it until the Red Flash found its way back into the second set to take the 22-21. The Knights responded with a 3-0 run to take the second set, 25-22.
 
The third set saw several runs from both teams for several lead changes throughout the third set. However, with the set tied at 14, the Knights notched a 6-0 run to take the lead and control it for the remainder of the third set to claim the final set, 25-19.
 
FLASH NUGGETS 

Madi Tyus (Plano, Texas/Bishop Lynch) led the Red Flash overall with 15 kills on the day. Following closely behind was Korrin Burns (Shippenville, Pa./Clarion Area) with 11 kills.
 
Emma Fenton (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) led the team as a setter with 35 assists on Saturday, while Maggie Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) led as a libero with 13 digs overall.
 
UP NEXT
The Red Flash will continue NEC action in Massachusetts next weekend by taking on Stonehill on Friday, October 28 at 5:00 p.m. and Merrimack on Saturday, October 29 at 4:00 p.m.
