Women's Basketball Set to Take on Xavier

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball will continue its non-conference slate by traveling to Xavier on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m.

Saint Francis Quick Hits
Saint Francis most recently dropped a game to No. 25 Michigan, 91-36 to go 0-2 overall. Michigan started off the game with a 12-0 run to never allow the Red Flash to lead in game. Addison Novosel led Saint Francis overall in scoring with nine points in the game, which was a new game high for Novosel. Jade Campbell led the Red Flash overall in rebounding to pick up seven boards in the game. Saint Francis notched its best run in the third quarter with a 5-2 run that featured layups from Aaliyah Moore and Layla Laws and free throws from Destini.

Saint Francis Quick Hits
Aalyah Moore currently leads Saint Francis with 15 points on the season, while Adison Novosel follows closely behind with 13 points this season. Filippa Goula currently leads the team with four assists over the two games played this season. Jade Campbell leads the Red Flash overall in rebounding with 12 boards for the freshman on the season.

Scouting Xavier
Xavier has started off the 2022-23 season by going on a 2-0 run. The Musketeers opened its season with a dominating 87-68 win at Miami (OH) on Nov. 7. The team most recently notched its second win of the season at home in another dominating 71-57 win over Detroit Mercy. Mackayla Scarlett leads the team overall in points with 38 over the two games played this season. In addition, Shelby Calhoun stands on top with 14 boards for the Musketeers. Both Kaleigh Addie and Mackayla Scott notched game highs in the team's season opener at Miami (OH). Addie with 21 points and Scarlett with 19 points. Both Saint Francis women's basketball head coach Keila Whittington and Xavier women's basketball head coach Melanie Moore are starting their fourth seasons as the head coach for their respective schools.

All-Time vs. Xavier
Xavier leads the overal series at 2-0. In the team's most recenth matchup, Xavier defeated Saint Francis 70-64 in 2003. The game was played in Cincinnati, Ohio. Saint Francis finished that season 25-6, while Xavier finished the 2003-04 season at 17-13 overall and 8-8 in the A-10.

Around the NEC
Four out of nine Northeast Conference teams have collected a win this season. However, no team is undefeated in the conference after less than a week of 2022-23 action. Wagner defeated Manhattan in a close match with a score of 63-60, while LIU gained a win over Ohio U, 74-67. In addition, Sacred Heat's fist win of the season came in a 72-34 win over Hartford, while St. Francis Brooklyn defeated The College at Old Westbury, 81-15.
