>> Saint Francis University women's volleyball defeated top Northeast Conference (NEC) seed, Sacred Heart 3-1 on Saturday to close out regular season action with six straight wins.
>> With today's win, the Red Flash close out the 2022 regular season 12-15 overall and 10-4 in the Northeast Conference. The team will move onto the NEC Tournament as the No. 2 seed, the semifinals opponent is still to be determined.

Maggie Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) notched a double-double in Saturday's win with 14 kills and 13 digs.

Madi Tyus (Plano, Texas/Bishop Lynch) led the team overall in kills with 16 on the day.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
With Red Flash up 2-1 in the match, a dominating fourth set from the Red Flash would determine the winner. Set four started off back-and-forth, tying on several occasions. With the Red Flash down 14-12 in the fourth set, the team notched a 6-0 run that featured back-to-back services aces from Eicher. This gave the Red Flash the lead to hold it for the remainder of the fourth and final set. A kill from Hogan secured the final set for the Red Flash, 25-21.
FLASH MOMENTS
Sacred Heart took its first lead of the match early in the second set. However, the Red Flash responded with a 4-1 run to take the 6-5 lead and hold it for the remainder of set two. The Pioneers came back later in the set to come within one and make the score 20-19, but Saint Francis didn't let the Pioneers take the lead by notching a 5-1 run to claim the second set, 25-20.
The Red Flash started off the first set with a 3-1 run to never allow the Pioneers to lead in set one. A kill from Hogan coming off the hands of Fenton gave the Red Flash the first set, 25-19.
Sacred Heart found its stride in the third set by gaining and early lead and holding it throughout the rest of the third set for the Pioneers to claim set three, 25-19.
FLASH NUGGETS
Prior to Saturday's win, the last time the Red Flash defeated the Pioneers was last season over a five-set matchup which was also in Fairfield, Conn.
Aubrey Deptula (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton Community) matched her game high of 10 kills in Saturday's match which she has now achieved three times this season. Deptula also notched a new game high of nine blocks on Saturday.
