OPENING TIP
• Thursday's game between Saint Francis and Saint Vincent marks the 66th meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 1928-29 season.

• It will be the first meeting between the two teams who are separated by just 54.8 miles in 46 years.
• The two teams played at least once every year from 1945-76 for a total of 50 tilts.
• From 1928-42, the squad's squared off 15 times, but had two breaks due to Saint Vincent not having a team.
• The Red Flash lead the series 51-24 and have won 14 of the last 15 meetings in the matchup.
• The Frankies took the last meeting 80-67 in 1975-76 and have won 21 of the 23 meetings in Loretto.
• The Bearcats last win in the series was a 77-63 decision in Latrobe in 1973-74, while their last win in Loretto was a 72-66 victory in 1965-66. Saint Francis has won the last eight times on its home floor in the series.
THE WORD ON SAINT VINCENT

AN SFU WIN WOULD
• Be the team's third win of the year and third win at home
• Be the 204th win at DeGol Arena on the anniversary of the buildings dedication (December 8, 1972)
• End the team's second three-game losing streak of the season
• Be the first win against Saint Vincent since 1975-76

• Freshman Gestin Liberis is averaging 6.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in the two games against Hartford and Franciscan.
• Redshirt junior Luke Ruggery is celebrating a birthday on December 8. It marks the third-straight year the Red Flash will play on his birthday. It will be the first time the Duncansville native will play at home on his birthday.
FRANKIES TIDBITS IN A FLASH
• The home of Saint Francis men's basketball, the Maurice Stokes Athletic Center, opened on December 4, 1972, for the first time against Saint Vincent.
• Four days later (December 8, 1972), the then-new facility was dedicated by Saint Francis.
• The two teams will meet 50 years and four days from the inaugural game due to a coincidence. The coaching staff was not aware of the significance of the game until after the game was scheduled.
• This will also mark the final non-conference home game for the team, who will hit the road for its final three non-conference contests before opening league play against CCSU on December 29.
• This game marks the 11th time Saint Francis has played a non-Division I opponent under head coach Rob Krimmel, and the second time this season after posting a DeGol Arena record number of points in a 120-53 win against Franciscan on November 23.
• Saint Francis is 10-0 in these contests and are averaging 107.6 points per game. The Red Flash are also allowing 62.5 points per game in these contests.
• The only two times Saint Francis did not reach 100 points against a Division III opponent under Krimmel was against Franciscan in 2017 and 2018.
• Despite not playing Saint Vincent since 1973-74, the Red Flash have put up six 100-point games against the Bobcats, which is the second-most against any team. Saint Francis has reached 100 points nine times against Franciscan.
• The last time the Red Flash scored 100 points against Saint Vincent was a 113-102 win in 1971-72 in Latrobe, while the last time it happened at home was a 111-73 decision in 1966-67.
• The Red Flash has also played Keystone, Chatham, Bethany and Bloomburg in the last nine years.
• Hartford is going through the declassification process moving from Division I to Division III, but the 77-53 win still counts as a Division I win for the Red Flash.
• Saint Francis is 336-312-2 against all the teams in the state of Pennsylvania. The Red Flash is 86-237 against NCAA Division I teams and 250-75-2 against non-NCAA Division I teams.
• The squad will play four fellow Keystone state teams this season. The Red Flash has played Lehigh (L, 76-82) and Bucknell (L, 65-89) already the season and along with Saint Vincent will travel to Robert Morris on December 21.
• The Loretto program is looking to end a three-game losing streak against fellow Keystone state teams dating back to its 75-67 loss to Robert Morris on Dec. 22, 2021.
• Krimmel is 21-21 against the state of Pennsylvania.
• Saint Francis has played its most games against teams from the western part of the state in program history. The Red Flash have tangled with Robert Morris the most in the state with 90 meetings. Duquesne has been on the squad 75 times, Saint Vincent 65 times, Westminster 43 times, Geneva 39 times and Pittsburgh 30 times.
• Saint Francis will board a plane and head to Hawaii after the game for five days. The squad will play Hawaii on Sunday.
• It will be the second trip to the state of Hawaii after the Frankies played at Hawaii-Hilo, now a Division II team, during the 1975-76 season twice.
• In another coincidental temp of fate that was also the only time Saint Francis played Butler before this season as the team was making its way back from Hawaii.
